A monstrous tornado unleashes ravenous sharks from Washington, D.C., all the way down to Orlando, Florida.
Attempting to travel to Florida to visit his family, Finn and April become stranded in the middle of the biggest sharknado yet dropping sharks down on the East Coast and must battle their way through the creatures to save their friends.<br/><br/>While not quite up to the craziness of the second one, this is still another stand-out effort here. Again, this is due to the running theme of finding just impossibly cheesy scenarios of dumping sharks falling from the sky and killing people, which here never gets old and still retains a spectacle-laced charm that makes this one so endearing. That charm also comes in the form of so many outstanding action scenes along the way here, from the opening assault on the White House dinner where the random guests are all attacked and the rather cheesy fun of taking a chainsaw to the flying shark or blasting them out of the air with a hail of gunfire blowing them away gives this a spectacular start followed by the save later onthey land on the escape route to get away. As well, the big fun here is the theme park action where the falling sharks land in the water ride, take out the stalled roller coaster sliding up and down on the tracks into the giant loop, crash the set of the disaster ride in front of the panicked guests who assume it's all part of the attraction and the swarm of sharks falling onto the tourists and wiping them out in graphic attacks leaves for quite an extended, highly cheesy sequence that's all the more fun with how it finally gets resolved and offers up some truly suspenseful momentswell. The later attack on the Army base is quite fun with the raining sharks taking out the base with plenty of graphic blood-splatter, offer up the truly highlight moment kill in the film which is unbelievably spectacular and carries on the resolution offered from the first one that pays off nicely herewell with the action in the skies using the fighter jet to take the creatures out. There's also the fun finale with the space-shuttle being threatened and offering a form of high-impact action scenario to finally end matters while keeping the action furious with the raining sharks coming down on the troops, the multitude of gunfights to keep them at bay and the magnificent finale that truly offers forth floating sharks in spacethey attack and get inside the ship which makes for more chilling moments and plenty of fantastic cheese including the final means of getting back to Earth. Again, coupled with some great kills and a few hilarious lines, this one offers up a lot to like although there's a few problems here. A lot of this is on the special effects,the sharks here are quite fake-looking with barely any moment of credibility in their appearancethey're obviously so CGI rendered that it's impossible to believe they were ever in the same shot with anyone to begin with and becomes somewhat distracting at times. Also, it does run into sequel-itis at times by re-using many of the scenarios and set-upsprevious entries did even though there's never a truly logical reason to do so other than to homage the past and keep the series running, which isn't nearlydistractingthe sharks but is still noticeable. These here do harm it slightly but not enough to lower the positive points.<br/><br/>Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Language.
In all my yearsa G* I have watched many a movie but I would not recommend any above this one. It truly is a masterpiece. I've always been a big fan of the sharknado films and when I heard there was a third one out I pushed my not so busy schedule aside and "made time" to watch my favourite franchise. I was definitely not disappointed. What really made this film was it's shockingly accurate portrayal of child birth and the cameo of my favourite music artists, Jedward.<br/><br/>Overall I have to say that this instalment of this already amazing series is the best so far and it will join the other DVD's in my collection. My most anticipated title would have to be sharknado 4 and I can't wait to see just how they're going to top this one (if it's at all possible).

After diverting a sharknado over Washington, D.C., Medal of Freedom and Order of the Golden Chainsaw recipient Finley "Fin" Shepard (<a href="/name/nm0005575/">Ian Ziering</a>) heads for Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida to join his pregnant wife April (<a href="/name/nm0005346/">Tara Reid</a>), their teenage daughter Claudia (<a href="/name/nm1707018/">Ryan Newman</a>), and April's mother May Wexler (<a href="/name/nm0000137/">Bo Derek</a>). Along the way, he also runs into sharknado survivor turned warrior Nova Clarke (<a href="/name/nm2628561/">Cassandra Scerbo</a>). Meanwhile, more sharknadoes are developing, and the sharknado hunters fear that the individual storms may converge into a massive sharknado wall and destroy the entire eastern seaboard. Sharknado 3 is the third movie in the made-for-television disaster film series Sharknado, all of which have been based on screenplays by American screenwriter/director Thunder Levin. It is preceded by <a href="/title/tt2724064/">Sharknado (2013)</a> (2013) and <a href="/title/tt3062074/">Sharknado 2: The Second One (2014)</a> (2014), and followed by <a href="/title/tt4831420/">Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens (2016)</a> (2016), and <a href="/title/tt6298780/">Sharknado 5: Global Swarming (2017)</a> (2017). Nova clears a hole in the sharknado wall, allowing Fin, April, and Colonel Gil (<a href="/name/nm0001327/">David Hasselhoff</a>) to successfully launch the Independence space shuttle, but they run into another problem when the rocket doesn't break up the storm wall. Gil decides to try using the Strategic Defense System (SDI) satellite, but it requires that he leave the shuttle in order to manually reboot the SDI laser. Consequently, the sharknado wall collapses, but the sharks are propelled into space and begin attacking the Independence. Fin and April are separately eaten by large sharks just before the shuttle explodes into bits, sending all the sharks back to earth where they start to rain upon the beaches. Fin crawls out of one shark's belly while April uses a chainsaw to slice her way, along with her newborn son, out of the other shark. When asked what he's going to name his son, Fin looks up into space and announces that he's going to be name him "Gil", after his father. Meanwhile, Gil has landed on the moon. In the final scene, April bends over to pick up the wings given to them by the Colonel…justa large fragment of the space shuttle hurtles out of the sky, headed directly for April. A note then appears, inviting the viewing audience to register their votes at #AprilLives, #AprilDies, or Sharknado.Syfy.com,to whether April survives, the results of which to be revealed in Sharknado 4.
